About the Author

Aaron Thomas Milstead is a novelist, short fiction writer, and Creative Writing lecturer at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he has taught since 2006 and earned both his BA and MA in English. He currently teaches courses in Rhetoric and Composition, Introduction to Creative Writing, and Horror Writing — a special topics course he developed himself.

He is a published author with Blood Bound Books, with three novels to his name: They Don't Check Out (2015), Earworm (2023), and Ronnie Rampage (2025). His short fiction has appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines including Road Kill: Texas Horror by Texas Writers Vol. 3, Crash Code, Nuthouse Magazine, Dark Krypt, Dark Valentine, and others dating back to 2004.

Aaron co-owns Milstead & Associates Counseling Group with his wife Brittany, a licensed psychotherapist — a partnership that informs the psychological complexity at the heart of his fiction. He is currently seeking representation for Brainstorm, a YA psychological thriller, and Armageddon Days, a literary fantasy.

He lives in Nacogdoches, Texas with his wife Brittany and their three children.
